hi guys, so after some not so good news i need to pull the head out of my maverick to be replaced. Well since it will be out this is a great time to put the header on right?? My question to you guys is what headers will work on my 200 straight 6?

    Thanks, Jakob

I have a 250. The 250 is taller than a 200 and it also has a low mount starter. So yes, a lot of modifications. The flange collector was cut off and about 3" or 4" added and the flange was welded back on the header after it was clocked to clear the starter. Below is a pic to compare what it looks like to fit a 250.

I have the same header on my car as well. I had a 250/C4 in the car when I originally installed it back in 2007 and the collector flange hit the bell housing where the starter bolts up. I took a pie cut out of the area leading up to the collector and shifted it over about 1/2 inch to clear. I've since had it on a '71 200/C4 and currently on a '80 200/SROD and it fit both with no issue. I've probably got around 180k miles on the header and it's held up well. The only problem I've had with it was where the two tubes are siamesed together on the center exhaust port, it melted and developed a leak there. I probably had around 130k miles on the header when this happened. I welded it up and it's been fine since.
