One step closer with the roll cage and subframe connectors taken care of and the new roof (see thread in General Section with pics of roll cage). Thank you Don Graham for the NHRA rule book. I got it today, just in time and it really helped. I owe you buddy.

Next up is to finish the body work and get a cheap paint job and I'm currently working on the engine build plans. I've got a 1974 302 block and am planning on going relatively high compression, 331 stroker w/ AFR 185's. Would like to go with 205's but I don't think I'll be able to get headers for those. If I go total rebuild, 11's shouldn't be too hard with some tuning of course. I'm also contemplating going with a 1988 or newer roller cam 5.0 engine from the junk yard with the AFR heads. That option would be cheaper and faster and would likely get me close to 11 sec. Any ideas on engines?

I am very impatient and I can't wait to get to the track. I'll probably go check out the PSCA this weekend at Fontana. I'll keep you guys posted of progress, if any...

IMO, go ahead and build a roller motor....I believe you will end up there eventually.
Sounds like you got things going in the right direction.
I agree, do not waste the $$$ on the 205's unless you can get the right size headers.
