It was definately a bad day of racing sunday at my local track.Kendall hebert of gladiator racing hit the wall at the end of the track when only one chute opened and tossed the jet car sideways at around 300 mph.Heres a link to the whole story http://www.canada.com/windsorstar/news/story.html?id=68ec6278-44ad-484e-a992-c94e6d327d28&k=23471
It's always sad to hear about a 17 yr. old getting killed. Certainly sounds like she knew the risks and was doing what she wanted to be doing. Windsor is the town I grew up in. They don't grow car nuts better anywhere else that I know of. John B
That is the way I want to go...or wiping out on a big wave at the north shore of Hawaii...Definitely NOT driving to work on a Tuesday morning! Sad to hear about it. But seriously, I think it is better to go while having fun..doing what you love...
the greatest joy in life is doing the things people say you cannot do, and doing them with the people you love
From whot i have heard, the metal part of the seatbelts tore [they were 6 weeks old] and that is the reason for her being ejected.Derek.
At 300mph I doubt any seatbelt would hold you in place when you hit something, think about the negative forces involved, still a sad story, but thats one of the risks of racing.
