I got a flat tire today.I was planning on buying new tires and wheels anyways so I need some help.My friend has a set of American racing torque thrusters that didn't fit his car. however they are 17x8 all four of them.Would I be able to use these on my mav and what tire size would be good?If those are too wide then I had originally planned on buying the same style wheels but 15 inch.I ordered new leaf springs from lauren mustang and I Have new shocks ready to go in the rear. The front is sitting high but I will adjust that.My intentions with my car is for it to be a daily driver but yet have some power. So with that being said whats my best option for tires and wheels?Thank you.

What's the offset? On my 17x8's I plan on 245/45 on all four corners.

Measure the backspace on the rims. I just installed 17x7s with 4" backspace all the way round with 245/45 tires and they fit pretty good.

I just put 17x8s with 4.5" backspacing on my Maverick and they fit great. 255/45s out back and 215/45s on the front. You need to measure the backspacing of those wheels to see if they'll fit

those wheels go for around $750-$800 new. i would suggest offering $100 a wheel and seeing how your friend responds. you do need to check the back spacing to make sure it fits your car.

i would put some 255 45 17s on the rear and some 225 45 17s on the front.

I am running 255 and 225 and I like the width. Not those rims, and not 17s, yet. But soon.

I have tried several sizes front and back before landing on these sizes, and liking them.

So I agree with Bryant on his choice of tires.

Verify that backspacing, because that will be the thing that decides if those rims will work or not.

I think you take a couple of yard sticks and stand one up against the back of the wheel and take the other and stick it in the back of the wheel until it touches the center of the wheel and where the yard stick crosses the other is the measurement of your back space .

I believe this is the right way  for sure

$400 a set of wheels sounds like a very fair price friends or not. any accessory drops in value by 50% the second its carried out of the store and slightly more once mounted on a car
