I sold the Maverick to move to New York City and got to New York and realized I hated it...so needless to say I moved back to Georgia. I was looking for another Maverick when I stumbled upon a 1967 Falcon. Its a good base for a project and I think it will be a really fun car once complete. The plans are to finish up the exterior, put a stock interior in it, probably puts some 3.55 in the rear, lower it a little, and put some nice wheels on it. It has a 302 with a mild cam and c4. I'll plan to stick around here since you all are some of the most knowledgeable car guys around.

I did have one issue with the falcon that I can't seem to figure out. When I bought the car it was running out of a gas can. I hooked up the tank and now I can't get gas from the tank to the carb. I took the fuel lines off and cleaned them out and replaced the rubber lines. I know the fuel pump works because it pulls gas from a gas can. I think the fuel sending unit is good as well because the gas gauge works. Any thoughts on what it could be?

    Nice looking car.
Plugged up screen on the pick up tube would be my guess.

I've seen the pickup tube rust completely shut! I've also seen mud wasps put a nice plug in them too! I would remove the sending unit and take a look. You can also see the tank's condition by shining a good flashlight down on a mechanics mirror stuck through the hole. And like " cyclonewill " said, you just might luck out and have the pickup sock clogged up. :)
And I forgot to add, it's a nice car! I've had many Falcons in my lifetime! :)

You may also have a cracked connecting hose along the line somewhere that is allowing the pump to pull air.

Very nice - light chassis to move, I like it!

Thanks. I'll pull the sending unit and see if it is clogged, and then go from there! Hopefully it works.
