Hey guys, i'll try to make this as short as possible,

I lost my mom many, many years ago ( she was a way cool mom to ). Anyways i know where a car is that she saved her tips for as a bartender to put a down payment on. She used to always talk about this thing, i honestly thought she was delusional about when i was a kid. I would just like to get some advice on what to offer the man who has it.

1970 Black on Black 428 SCJ 4 speed Mach 1, 34,426 original miles,

Is 50k to high of an offer or to low ?

P.s. The car is the reason i am here on this earth, mom and pops met street racing, she won.

Just a little more info on it, after the man who owns the car now got it back in 1972, he took it home, put the car on blocks and coverd it, it has been sitting in the same garage ever since. My brother went and took pictures of it, he matched them to some old pictures he had of him and my sister standing next to it back in 1971, same car.

That doesn't mean he won't take much less than those cars I posted. You need to talk to him and see what he wants.

If it's been on blocks for 40yrs and never driven, it may/will need a lot of parts replaced. Hve u heard it run? If it's still on blocks and has bn for 40 yrs; ur offer of $50K maybe generous...IMO...

I agree, 40 years and never run/moved, you don't know what has dried up, frozen up, locked up. It will probably have to be restored, all the rubber pieces will be dried up and hard, think brake lines, wheel cylinders, gaskets, etc.

Unless it was a Boss 429, I seriously doubt it's worth anything near $50 grand the way it sits. Maybe somewhere between $10,000 - $15,000 at the most. Now if it were totally restored and driveable, it would be worth more. All it is now is a museum piece, only able to sit and be looked at.....

I just got the pics, happy --- but bummed at the same time, i honestly do not think the guy would take anything less than 70k and thats on the slim side, if i was lucky and he felt sorry for me. My brother said if you cleaned the car it would look like it just rolled off the line. Give me a sec and i'll post the pics and you guys tell me what ya think. :)

I was wrong on the year of this pic, this is the one of my brother and sister in 1973, a little before the car was sold.

Here is the most recent pic of the car, notice the white pin strip on the side, the dealership sold my mom on that idea, they told her it would break the black up on the car. :( If i were to ever get the car back, the stripe would stay, even though i'm not a fan of it.
