I was looking for a front bumper for my 70 Maverick and I read that a 70 Mustang would fit. Finding 70 bumpers for a Mustang for only $93!!!

Does anyone know if this is true? It's a LOT better than rechroming at around $400 for each one.

Actually it looks like the back bumper is the same also!!!!

Here are the Mustang and Maverick next to each other:

Now a photoshop overlay. Has anyone else checked this out or used a 70 Mustang bumper, either front or rear or both?

I knew a guy years ago who used a maverick bumper on the back of his 71 mustang. It didn't look too out of place. The 69-70 mustang front bumper is pointed too much to work on the Maverick.

If they fit, we'd all be using them..

    Oh...

Anyone know of an inexpensive source for bumpers or a less expensive place for rechroming?

I imagine the thought of a painted fiberglass bumper isn't too bad...

Thanks, I'll call them tomorrow. They haven't updated their message since Christmas ahahahahahaha

Hopefully they will work out. Mine aren't bad, rusted and a small twist in the front one...

    Thanks!

In my opinion, Mustang bumpers are not even close.

I would not recommend fiberglass bumpers for a street car.

Fixing/restoring a Maverick is not cheap...as I am sure you will find out ($93 versus $400).

I understand that from the new floorpans that I had to have welded in. The make them for Mustangs, but not Mavericks. It's all about what you want and are willing to put into something for some desired outcome.

I like projects I guess and if it takes longer than shorter because of financial reasons, it will take longer - it's OK :)

I'm trying to restore a Remington 1875 and it's near impossible to find parts. Found gunsmiths that will do some of the parts and hoping to get help from the Remington Historical Society. Just finshed my motorcycle (an old CM400 with full Vetter language and fairing. From black to red and stereo and so on. I don't mind the work for the outcome I hope to achieve.

:hmmm: Thanks for the warning, I'm ready ;)

Tri Citys is worth it. Great to deal with and they do great work.

This is what I just finished, it was in rough shape when I got it.

If you want to stay a little closer to home there is a shop in Spokane, WA. I know a guy that used them and they did a nice job. http://www.tripleplatechrome.com/
