Does anyone know if the Comet GT V-8 302, 3 Speed Transmission came with column shifter as well as floor shifter, or only floor shifter... Is there a good resource for actual part numbers for 70's fords?

I would think that either shifter would be available...
Ford was good about putting granny shifters on some of their hottest cars, so a lowly Comet GT could surely get one as well.

Lots. Had one as a teenager. 302 car 3 speed column. My buddy bought it and put a 351 windsor in it with the 3 speed column shift. I pretty much learned how to drive stick in it.

I think the floor shifter was part of the GT package but remember you could order just about anything back then.

My last V8 Sprint was a column shift 3 speed manual.

    Pilot Bearing Question

Ok... The clutch is ready to go in and then we are droping the engine in. One pressing issue I need your all expert knowledge of... I received the clutch from Lux... It came w/ 4 diff pilot bearings... 2 brass, 2 steel... I quickly eliminated the brass... The steel is one solid steel and one w/ bearings in it... Both fit the measurements... Suggestions? I can see valid points in using either one... Additionally just out of curiosity, once I get the pilot bearing in... Can I ever get it out again? Thanks as always for everything! We are one small step from dropping the engine and hearing it run... Finding all the Z-Bar parts has been a challenge... But I actually found a real V-8 pivot... And I have to just say I so thankful for this forum! I look forward to your comments!
