Anyone ever seen a Grabber in this color? I have a rough Grabber, and a nice 1971 regular Maverick, and am looking at converting it to a Grabber and possibly using this color with the black hood/graphics. Just curious if anyone has ever seen one painted like this... I know it was a really popular color scheme on 1971 Mustangs, such as Mach 1's and Boss 351's.

Personally I like that color alot.
I have never seen a Pewter Maverick though.
A silver would look good too, but I hear it is very hard to paint with good results.

Is there anywhere I can look at the available colors for a 1971 Maverick? I have a list of the colors, but I would like to see the colors, such as paint chips/swatches or the like. According to:

    http://home.comcast.net/~petebre/maverick/decode/1971.html

    the color was not available.

    Any ideas?

When I was 16, the guy across the street from me got a '71/'72 Grabber-250 I-6. This would have been around 1983. I don't think that it was a repaint. The paint was faded, but it was what I called charcoal gray with the black stripes. I always believed that car to be the original color. He painted it solid white and could not find replacement stripes at that time.

Pewter is not purely silver or gray.
It is a metallic silver with a tinge of gold...

I see light pewter poly... is this the same as the light pewter metallic? If not, we will have to make a decision on which to use...

i think that light pewter poly color would look good, might go a tad darker. i dont like that color 411 posted because of the gold mixed in.

I would say that poly is the same as metallic.....my 74 is tan poly, which is listed on some charts as tan metallic....

The first two pictures were about as small as normal thumbnail pics, so it is really hard to tell much about them. The last one does not look like light pewter metallic, it looks darker. I am leaving for work, but I will try to post a Mustang in that color later.
