I have been restoring a '71 comet GT for both drag race and street legal for the past couple of years in my spare time. I am happy to say that the project is almost complete. It seems the custom paint and body have been the longest and most expensive. I put a 460 motor in it. The only thing left is the headers and interior, and minor other details. If anyone has any suggestions on where I can get headers for this without having to take my car and leave it at an unknown shop to be done custom please let me know. I have already ordered and lost out on 3 sets already.
Welcome and sounds good! What kind of front end do you have on the car with the 460? May have a lead on some headers.
baltimore huh :Handshake to the board , not to far away from me about 1 hour as stated above we LOVE pics...headers will prolly have to be custom ... good luck where you race at? Capital ? come up the road to mason dixon will we have a big ole get togther
Crites makes a pair for the '67-'70 Mustangs (http://www.critesrestoration.com/mustang.htm). They may fit. I assume you put in a Mustang II front suspension. If so, there may be a few that you can use.
You are close to the MCCI Round up in July, ought to check it out. Sounds like a cool set up, there are a couple around here, obviously AUSSIEBJ has one and Robert Rainey and Jay Perez. I've seen Roberts and Jays cars in person but don't remember the headers.
Here is a picture of Jay Perez's car from the 12th Annual MCCI Roundup Nationals. I seem to recall he took a set of headers for another car and had to customize a few tubes to get it to fit. Of course....he has a tube front end...so that was pretty easy for him to do.
