Right now my maverick has a 302 and its tired. I have been collecting parts for a while and started working on the motor today. Here are the parts I have gotten for it
mid 80's 351w block 1 piece rear main .040 over
stock rods with speed pro hypertectic flattops
comp cams extreme energy cam .519 intake .523 lift exhaust
    c9 heads
    scorpion 1.6 ratio roller rockers
performer intake knockoff. We already had it and it should clear the grabber hood

I had it at my uncles and we have the shortblock together. I just gotta get some dial pins for the heads because they got lost. One of the retainers has a crack in it so I plan to get a new one tomorrow. I hope to have the engine together in a few days if I can get the little stuff. I will post some pics of it probaly tomorrow

I got my dowel pins at Napa pretty cheap, it was in an engine finishing kit that also comes with the cam bolt and eccentric.

    Engine build plan sounds good:thumbs2:

but im not too sure on the performer intake, when we swapped it out for an RPM in my buddies mustang it made a world of a difference. I ran one and didn't like it a all, i actually sold it this past weekend.

might change it later on. It might be a performer rpm knockoff. It doesn't have any markings on it

decided to get the machine shop to put a new set of retainers on the heads for safety. If olerodder still has it I plan to buy his victor jr intake

made some more progress. I bought the victor jr intake, had a new set of retainers but on the heads and very glad I did. It turned out 1 or 2 was cracked bad. I also got the short block together. The engine should be assembled soon. We also started on some subframe connectors. The welds need ground down, and I plan to paint them black when finsished. Here is a couple pics. I had to bend one piece of the floor a little put nothing bad. I don't have anyway to bend them so I used what I had.

I hear that the SFC's without bends are Stronger than the ones with bends.

I did some more work. Th shocktowers are done and I had to reconstruct the whole battery box area. I had the checkerplate and it was already bent so each boxing plate on the towers is 1 solid piece instead of 2 welded together.

well the headers didn't fit. I put a pinto clip under it and ended up selling the sbf ford stuff. Hopefully plan to do a cam only 5.3 someday. Here it is in its current pathetic shape lol
