i need to change out the gear in the tranny connected to the speedometer cable. its an 18 tooth. i put a set of 3.55 s in rearend.it seems to be about 10mph off. i took my sho to work and marked it when i went 10 miles. then took comet the same distance but comet was only reading i went 7.something miles. i have the paperwork in the car. can someone tell me what tooth gear i need. thanks.

I had to do the same thing, when I put 3:55 gears, in the rearend. I used the biggest gear the tranny shop had on the shelf. Not sure how many teeth. I don't even remember the color. It's been 5 years ago....

21 to 23 teeth shoul be about right but if you tell me what the ratio was before you put the 3.55 gears in it I can be more precise.
