Hoping someone can help us. We have a 1974 Maverick with the 6 cylinder 200 engine, and she runs really bad...Compression on all 6 cylinders are 100 plus, and we've replaced the carburetor. It will run, but will not idle at all, with the idle screw all the way in. It ran before, but just kind of got worse and worse. The #5 spark plug is chalk white, while all the other plugs are normal (light brown). We thought it was maybe the intake gasket sucking air at the #5 cylinder, but today, found out that the intake manifold is part of the cylinder head, and don't separate. Apparently, the #5 cylinder is burning very lean for some reason. Plug firing fine, no obvious leaks...Anyone seen these symptoms before? Any help will be appreciated....
