Hello, this will be my first post about my newly acquired project. I picked up a 1975 LDO, straight 6, PS,PDB, AC car. My plans are to drop in a 302 (it came with one) and make it a grabber clone. Im converting it to small bumpers, (it came with most of what is needed to do). It already has a grabber hood, although I'm not sure if it isn't too far gone. It also came with NIB Magnum 500's (15X7). Been gathering parts and other stuff for a few weeks and started diving in today. I'll try and keep pictures coming as I go along.
I may, I still don't have front or rear lower valances for the small bumpers yet and my front bumper was missing the marker lights. I'm not in a real big hurry though. Got a lot of work ahead of me. The car has not been on the road since 1992.
Well, I'm in the market, so what are you looking to get for them? As long as they aren't too mangled and can be straightened out.
Got the rear spoiler in yesterday from TOPORANGER, got everything sanded down and primed and boy was there many layers of paint and different colors, but in really good shape. All good now, trunk drilled up and everything mounted, temporarily anyway. Two small spots to fix on spoiler and it will be good to go. Just chipping away at the easy stuff first.
Well, got most of the interior gutted and carpeting removed, not too many surprises, but it looks as though I will be replacing the passenger front floorboard. The rest of the floor is pretty solid. The rest of the interior I think is usable with some more clean-up. The vinyl on all the seats are in really good shape with no tears, but the drivers seat has an issue with a broken weld that is preventing the seat from latching properly. Hopefully it's fixable. We will see. I plan on staying with the tan interior as my current plans for the paint color will work well with tan. That's a ways down the road though.
I'm going to look again, but I can find nothing wrong with torque box. Its just the foot well in front of passenger seat.
Got the valances in from fordmaster169 yesterday and hung them today to check fitment. They look good. Now I need to fit the small bumpers to complete the conversion. Once I get everything how I like it I'll blow it apart to do the bodywork on everything.
Chrish64 Have you checked your " cowl area" yet ? That rusted out floor is an indication there may be more areas to be repaired than just the floor. Take a gallon of water and pour it over the lower windshield area and the cowl vents and look " Inside" the car under the dash area. Our type cars are known for rusted out cowl areas. Just a thought. Not yet, but I kinda suspected a leaking cowl for the passenger floorboard issue. I was planning to check, just haven't done it yet. Kind of dreading that.
