I have the chance to get an AOD-E (electronic overdrive, as opposed to the older non-electronic AOD) tranny from a 1995 Crown Vic for nothing. I believe it is mated to a 4.6L motor...does anyone know if this tranny can be made to bolt up to a 302?
I am not worried about all the electronics..I can deal with that. :) I am mainly wanting to know if it is worth it to drag this thing home...if it I can't bolt it to my 302, it is not worth it. ;)

Mark I may be wrong here but I think the bolt pattern is different. The starters have 3 bolts instead of 2 on the 4.6l of that much I am sure. Good luck(y)

If it is free I would drag it home anyways. It may have the better drums inside and gearsets etc....so when you do find an AODE that fits a 302/351w you will have spare parts and or upgrades.
