After looking at the Brazilan Mavericks How hard would it be to put a 2.3 ltr 4 cly in a Maverick? Could it be done without have to fab up motor mounts? I've heard that the 80's mustangs use the same motor mounts for the 302 and 2.3 Would the same thing work in a Maverick? Maybe a 2.3 turbo coupe moter out of a T-bird? Just doing some bench racing Russ

That might be interesting. We have a guy here in So.Cal. that runs low 12 sec. ET's at 1/2 mile altitude that would correct to high 11's at sea level with a Turbo Pinto. Sure would be different!

A 2.3 turbo in a Mav would be awesome. The handling would be exceptional. A lightweight motor in a lightweight car. There are four banger mustangs running 9 sec 1/4 mile times so Imagine a motor like that in a Mav. I had toyed with the idea back in the late 80's but the Merkur XR4ti I wanted to take the motor out of was totaled before I could make the swap. Those little engines can really make some big numbers when done right. Might be fun and somewhat economical for the performance you can get.

I never get tired of seeing this car run! Check this out, if you haven't already seen it, a SVO Mustang in the mid-low 9's, with a 4-cylinder!

Just goes to show that they DO have a TON of potential. I'd like to have one of those cars eventually. Fun to drive!
