What to do? Swap for one line unit? My car still has the two hard lines coming down from the engine, why should I/should I not use them? I know what you're all gonna say, but why does it have two in the first place?

The smaller (front) line is controlled by the EGR. It was a mistake by Ford and it causes problems with the transmission if the EGR fails. Remove the smaller line and plug it at the EGR valve. Use a Green Stripe Modulator to replace the two line unit. Don't make any adjustments to it. If you don't have a 1 5/8" pin in the modulator then make one from an 8d nail. You will be very happy with the way it shifts.
