Its not to early to start submitting photos for the 2005 calendar. I plan to stop taking entries around the middle of August. I had over 40 pics submitted last year. Here is a list of some things to make your chances of getting in the calendar a little better: 1) quality, quality, quality.....please send the best pic you can. (Matt & Doug can help with that) 2) Background. Please try to take a interesting photo. The background is very important. Maybe in front of a state capital, landmark, or something of interest. Pics of your car in the driveway or by the garage is not what I want. 3) Never seen before photo's. I would like pics that know one has seen. So if you submit one please wait until I let you know whether it is in or not before posting it on the board. I really want fresh pics so when someone receives it they don't say..."ah, I saw that on maverick.to" 4) All body styles are welcome. Original, modified race, 2-door, 4-door, small bumpers, big bumpers,comets/mavericks...I like to put a little of everything in the calendar. 5) Info: In 35 words or less, describe your car. Please include your name and location. 6) Did I mention.......QUALITY! Disclaimer: Submitting a photo does not mean that it will be in the calendar. There is a lot to pick from and I have the final say. Also, I sell these to reimburse myself for money that I spend on materials to do this. I made a few $$ last year(if you do not factor in the time I spent at home putting all the calendars together) but that is truly not what it is about. I want to give all maverick/comet lovers something to look at year round and something to be proud of. No compensation will be given to anyone who has a car in the calendar! You submitting a photo is acknowledgement that you are aware of that fact. Please send pics through e-mail(that seems to work the best for me) jonathan.ford@agimedia.com Thanks in advance.
Could someone please discribe in detail What size and resolution pics are needed to be at the quality that is required. Also ,could a pic taken with a 35mm camara be sent in by US mail ? If so what size should it be?
I will not offer my car to be in the 2005 calendar. I am very pleased that it was in the 2004. Let us keep it interesting, not the same cars. I ask that others do the same. Thanks Dan ps unless your car is pictured in front of Osama bin laden being captured!
Sam, anyone can submit a photo......but being a MCCI member will be one of my "decision breakers" if I cannot decide between 2 cars.......membership does have its benefits! MAV: I am sorry I cannot help you with this. But my computer skills and vocabulary is very limited. All I can say is I need as big a file as you can send. If you look at the 2004 calendar, the best quality picture is from George T.(Thats the red 73' grabber in the parade) AWESOME QUALITY! Doug, Matt, Neal, Dan and Stephen had great pictures as well. All the pics from the round-up I got from Doug or Matt(I cannot remember:confused: ) But they all came through e-mails as jpegs. Hopefully one of these guys will see this post and help us out. Thanks Dan, I did not think about that. It would sure be hard to keep that beautiful, awesome Stallion out of it!
The minimum that will look nice is a 2 megapixel camera at full resolution (1600x1200) and the highest quality allowed (other than tiff - they are too large to email generally). Takes alot of pixels to look good on an 8x10 glossy. Now that the mainstream digital cameras start at 3 and 4 megapixels, and 5 are getting cheaper, should not be a problem right?
Thats what I am talking about.......knowledge! One more thing I would like to add. When you take the picture.....windows rolled up looks more like a professional photo IMO. Just something to think about. Thanks a bunch Matt.
john if you see any cars that you really would like to have in your calendar that are so cal cars let me know! i'd be more then happy to shoot them! let me know
Thanks Derrick, you have a better feel for whats out there than I do, if you see one you like, shoot it ........just be careful around Tom, he is a little camera hog!
hmmmmmm, it might? I never even caught that ,,,,,,someone on the board brought it to my attention long after they where finished..........I guess my proof reading skills are not that great. *Just another thing to add to the list of things to "watch" for in 2005! Sorry about that.
Yeah, just getting on your case. The calendars are great! I just look at the pictures anyway. The only reason I noticed was because I was trying to schedule some vacation time leading up to Carlisle All Ford Nats on June 4 and I ran out of days in May.
I know you was Barry......I will still smack you across your head at the round-up if I can reach that high! j/k I think you guys know that I can handle a little razzing and hackling.........cause I will sure dish it out if the opportunity presents itself!
