You guys have been really helpful to me, I thought I'd share my experience replacing the cracked exhaust manifold on a '72 Maverick 200ci: The books listing this manifold are really flaky- some show the same manifold PN as early Mustangs, some show it's different from 71 up. The biggest difference is in the outlet, the early manifold we bought (which Classic Industries swore would fit) had a smaller pipe outlet, like 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" outlet that our exhaust pipe would not connect to. The stud spacing was the same but ours had a 2" outlet, which appears to be "high flow" or "hi-performance" (ha!) manifold. American Mustang Parts in Rancho Cordova Cal hooked us up with the correct size outlet manifold, but beware it has no provision for EGR/AIR or anything like that (ours did not have any emissions anyway). BTW, American Mustang (I think it was Brian?) spent an enormous amount of time with us on the phone to make sure the part was correct, I thank them and recommend them highly for parts. I don't have the invoice in front of me but I think it was this one: https://american-mustang.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24_376&products_id=4747 If you buy a new manifold, plan on spending some time fitting and grinding it to fit properly. The manifold we got needed considerable grinding along the lower flange edge because it hit against the block (WTF?!), and the factory A/C compressor has a stabilizer bracket that would not fit without grinding clearance into. Another surprise was that our old cracked manifold had zero warpage along the surface but the cylinder head was warped about .010" along the same flange- I've been doing this almost 50 years and never would have guessed that. From the factory there's no gasket so we used a gasket and exhaust sealer to take up the ten thou, it's quiet now. I hope this helps someone in the future, and I appreciate your help!
