Is anyone out there using Clifford headers on a 250. Just got mine but the engine is already out. I am fearing that the extra 1.6" height of the 250 may not allow enough space at the rear for the headers. Rough measurement seems to indicate that they will be in the fire wall.

I extended the collector about 4' to get the flange past the bellhousing.

For 15 years, I had a set of their dual outlets on my '71 with a 250. They finally burned through and I got rid of them.

I was running a Weber DGAV and when I went back to the stock exhaust, I did not notice much difference.

It was a fight to get them in and I had to cut them up to get them out again.

They only thing I hated about them was the low clearance. I dragged those damn things over every speed bump.

Did you install the exhaust port divider in the head? I cannot recall if this was required to use their headers.

Also, if you are running a stock carb, watch out for it running lean. That was why I went to the Weber.

I have 71gold's old 6 cylinder tri-Y header on my 250. I doesn't hang lower than the starter and had no problem install from the top between engine and shock tower. I did have to change the heater hose nipple on the cylinder head from 90* to 180*. I could feel a big difference from the stock exhaust.

I am adding a 38/38 webber but the adapter is to tall and would not clear hood so brazing and shaving the manifold for one of inline 6's adapters. Engine is out now but I am seriously concerned about overall clearance of the headers. Sounds like the pipes were hanging low on yours if you were dragging?

Where did you get these? Are they still avaliable?
