Does Anyone Know If The 351c Bellhousing Will Work With The 302 Block. I Know The Flywheel, And Starter, And Clutch (11") And Differant. Thanks
351c, 351w, 6 bolt (mid-65 and up) 289, and 302 until 82 all can interchange: Bellhousing Flywheel Crank bushing Starter (2 types: C4/3 speed/157t and 4 speed/164t) Clutch (10" and 11" stock, 10.5" available aftermarket) Engine mounts Pulleys (although you must match 3 bolt or 4 bolt stuff with the balancer) Balancers Many brackets TO bearing You can use many of these items off a 351m/400 as well, but NOT the engine mounts or bellhousing. SOMEONE EASE HIS PAIN AND CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG...
Most of the 351s (W, C and M) use the 164 tooth flywheel and bell housing. To swap it to a 302 you will need the bell housing, spacer plate, flywheel, and clutch. The starters are the same but the are located differently on the bell housing. You can't use the bell housing with the small flywheel (157 tooth) because the starter is too far from the flywheel to engage properly.
