She sounds wicked. I hope it runs as good as it sounds. Solid roller and 268/276 lift gives it the radical sound. I can't believe it started right up because this is the first engine I've ever built. I can't wait to see how it does at the track. I'm sure some of you guys know the satisfaction you get when you fire up a new engine. What a great feeling. Here are some before and after pics.
The pistons are Probe forged +9cc domes that give almost 13:1 compression. It has a roller cam so I don't think it needs much break-in.
damn that looks nice.....it looks like you took your time and did it right.... congrats... and yeah. it is a GREAT feeling when you hear that engine fire for the first time.... and all the grins and WOOHOOs you get from everyone... makes all that hard work a great pay off... now that it runs, take it easy and burn it in right....dont hot dog it until the rings are seated and all that good stuff..
Hey Maverick Man: You should go to the Fun Ford Weekend this weekend and race or at least put your car(s) in the car show, or at least show up and watch with me. Yeah, I'm still working on fixing the torque converter. I put the original one in just to get everything going. Can't race till I get the new converter situation figured out, along with alot of other things that need to get done to race. But at least I can take my time now. Getting the engine running gave me a boost of motivation.
damn its this weekend.. where have i been! hum they taking pre-reg only? can't race the white car there need to change the gears out! no time with school and work
