So my 71 4door comet came with the luxury decor option, but most of it is missing. That leaves a bunch of these little rivet things sticking out (some have M's on them. i thought that was cool :D). i was just wondering how i would go about removing them and making it look like they were never there. Also, if the trim pieces are readily available and inexpensive i might consider getting those; but i think it looks more attractive without them.

    thanks in advance :tiphat:

You can take vise grips, and try twisting them off, sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. But in the end, it usually involves some sort of grinder..

:bananamanawesome! do you happen to know if these are like regular rivets where they're two pieces, one on each side of the metal or if they are a single piece built into the body?

If they look like a head of a nail, they are spot welded on, if they look like a rivet, then they could very well be 2 piece, and leave a hole.

its a combination of the two. it looks like someone before me wanted to do something similar, but was indecisive. the ones with "m" on them seem to be spot welded and there are other actual rivets with two pieces. wierd... anyways, thanks a bunch!! :thumbs2: grinder and vice grips it is haha.

also, how do i fill the holes properly?

The only proper way to fill the holes, is to weld them up.
