I did a search and can't find any previous post addressing this. I currently have 4 lug drums on my 69.5 Maverick. I have a pair of 5 lug drums that I want to put on. Do I have to change everything out or will the 5 lug simply bolt onto the existing spindles ?? I know, the way to go is disk but since I'm re-doing the entire car the budget is stretched thin. And I really want this car on the road by late spring.
    Thanks, Darrel

    4 lug to 5

if I read my interchange book rite the 70 drums will not work on the 69 spindles..different bearinds but have the same seal.. 70 --77 use a A12 outer and A13 inner..if your mav was made from08/25/69--70 then it uses a A6 inner and A2 outer..just swap the spindles from 70-74 donor 5 lug car and put them on your 69.. the ball joints are the same, both upper and lower..Use your existing outer tie rod endsand use the inners from the donor car... this will do the trick..hope this helps RON(y)

    Thanks Ron,
I have the complete assembly for the 5 lug. Spindles etc. Was just trying to make life easy. I'm finding that alot of the parts on the 69.5 are different than the rest of the Mavericks. Maybe they are carry overs from the Falcon.

you hit the nail on the head when you said " carry over from a falcon".. the 69 1/2 had lots of falcon parts.. good luck and dont forget to use all the donor parts inthe front suspension

    (y) Thanks Daydreamer,
Hoping to just get this thing going soon !!! I'm definitly changing as much as I can. Love the cars in transition years for what they are, but hate trying to figure out replacement stuff !!!! It's all good though, 351w in a 69.5, it's all good !!!!
