I have a 72 4 door v8 donor car with 5 lug axels, I want to swap the 5 lug parts to my 4 lug 72 2 door. Do I have to swap everything or just the brakes/backing plate. Also, does the v8 and 6 cyl cars have the same spline? Thanks

You will need to swap the entire rear as a unit - the axles do not swap between housing because the bearings are a different size. All Maverick 8" are 28 spline.

Since you are not keeping the car original, I highly recommend swapping out the front for disc brakes. All the "Granada disc swap" items are sold new, as a kit now. No need to hunt junkyards for donor cars.

Search the forum - there are 100's of threads on these swaps.
