When I have my 4 way flashers on and push down on the break the flashers stop flashing, is this normal? If not is it a bad flasher or could it be something else?
Normal on old Fords. My Dad had a 67 Custom 500 [cheap version of the Galaxie} that when you held down the brake pedal, and pushed the 4 way flasher switch in just right, the radio would play! Don't ask me how or why, but I figured it out by accident sitting in the car one day waiting on my Mom at the grocery store. Could listen to the radio without the key! I thought it was so cool at about 10 years old....
Yes, normal. It's because of the way they are wired. You'll also notice the turn signals on the front light up as if they were brake lights too.
