The 70 Maverick listed in my avatar. It'll probably be the death of my T5.

Hmmmm.......I have AFR 185s with a Deamon 650, Eddlebrock RPM Airgap, much bigger cam and hooker headers and mine only made 303 rwhp. Which should be around 350 flywheel. Of course the guy running the dyno didnt seam to know what he was doing so maybe its better than that.

Dennis, you have 185s on your's? Those are some pretty big runners for a 306. Like I've said before, you always have to take these magazine articles with a grain of salt. Their job is to sell their advertiser's products.

they said it was a "stock 302 block and cam" they didnt say which one. Saleen block and cam mayhaps:16suspect:hmmm:. still sounds like those heads open some good flow and look to have decent chamber layouts. bmcdaniel, got any pics?:D

with dyno 2000 the best i get with there set up is

    .050 204 duration
    hp 323 @ 5000rpm
    TQ 363 @ 4000rpm

    seat to seat 276in 266exh
    hp 412 @ 6000rpm
    TQ 384 @ 5000rpm

    Lob sep @ 115.5 in & exh

The seat to seat duration is pretty close to theres, but I always thought that duration @.050 was more accurit.

The thing that's fishy about the whole thing is the HP- RPM kept going up.
    Stock-4200, then 5200 , then 6000, then 6200.
This just does not happen in real life with a stock cam.
Remember the cam controls the breathing show no matter what is put in front of the heads or or behind them. AFRs are good heads but not that good without a cam change or every body would have jumped on them by now.

Stock roller 5.0 HO cam is like 270ish duration, .47ish lift.

This is similar to the setup my cousin has in his Fairlane, and according to Engine Analyzer, its making right at 400hp at the flywheel. I do believe this program is a bit optimistic, but its pretty close. I think we're putting a little over 300hp to the ground. The car is somewhere between 3200 and 3500lbs and it ran an 8.76 in the eighth with a converter that was too tight.

I'm totally confused now.. I talked to Edelbrock about my 302.. They said that with a 224 dur @ 50. 496 lift, with a edel rpm manifold and a 700 edel carb, it produced 387 hp at the flywheel.. I have Edelbrock RPM(170s), 512 lift,230 dur @50 and roller rockers, pushrods and thought I wood get 400 at the flywheel, more like 280 to 290 at the wheels with a good C4 which is what I have. How come such a big difference.I am goin to have it dyno tuned once it is broke in and will report to all. I will be disapointed if I don't have more than 300 at the wheels..

Yuppers. The guy who dyno'ed my car looked like he didnt have a clue what he was doing. The first pull it went 295.2 hp and 289.1 torque. Second pull it went 303.2 and 311.6. Third pull was 246.6 and 271.6. All 3 sounded different like he was stomping on it at different times. and not always full throttle. Plus the motor had zero miles on it. Maybe this year at Carlisle I will try again and see what happens. I now have around 2500 miles on it.
