Well I got the 429 Mav to the track yesterday. Good news and better news. Good news is I ran 8.80 (.2 slower than my best time with the 302). Better news is that I was out of the gas or light on the throttle what seemed like half of the track. Hit the gas out of the hole like I did with the 302 and I was sideways in an instant about 20 feet out. Starightened out and hit the gas again and sideways again. OK first gear is useless shift to second. Started skating but not so bad that I have to get out of it.

I knew that the engine had some problems and planned to pull it soon to fix and finish making the Mustang II install look nice, but I thought it would last a while. Wrong. Came up the return road and look down at the oil gauge and it is on zero. Tap it a few times and still no pressure. Back on the trailer. So the the sour is I have to go through the engine, fork out some dough for a set a slicks. The sweet is that I am looking for a good solid lifter cam and I have a much better set of ported C8 heads sitting on the shelf.

    Man that was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :biglaugh:

    This is 1/8 mile.

Haven't even cracked the garage door since Sunday. Whole family has had some nasty colds. Hopefully this weekend I'll get started.
