Comet is getting its CRSP Disc Brake kit installed today (hooray!). I told the shop to save the 5 Lug Drum Spindle. My friend has a 4 Lug 1969 Falcon - the question we have is if the Comet 5 Lug Spindle is compatiable with the Falcon. Thank you.
Beginning 1970, spindles use larger bearings & probably tie rod pin is larger. If he's planning larger drums & five lugs in place of four, swap the brakes & use the '69-earlier bearings in the '70-up drum. No spindle change necessary.
The way I understand it, the 5-lug drum spindle works for those doing aftermarket disc brake conversions. They would be useful even for someone who just need a good spindle for whatever reason!
"the 5-lug drum spindle works for those doing aftermarket disc brake conversions. They would be useful even for someone who just need a good spindle for whatever reason!" The 72 - 74 hub changes and applications are not clear to me. not the biggest brakes but here's useful info for anyone with 70-72 probly 73' spindles, ( "Scarebird" on E-Bay) https://www.ebay.com/itm/185293963464?hash=item2b246180c8:g:SnwAAOSwPDhjxa2d&amdata=enc:AQAIAAAA4BteW1zrLOCcweU9vVzbs+wxOTozUGT5gvBu9BMkOqViJTT9LOYJcI7oAFu3qOBS/f1w81rWATExPVqzVvWU/FoN+8PEdV14LrKcQsrCYyS5Jc1j8DjGmohOaa0yXkW2bnN/Ns+1kNAzUhPqdUFO7ywMycRsgltwGtndjlgeopjZS24vxflWsCO2wcTUjJ4sknBDsDOVTpsXYrwphUj5I42nFrOlEIMa529wAzDDSstVEf6TCgyXpRi//CbEfw0JiDhklMkNrXaNSck5ixyhpKVNdg3vTXhvgVsZUp/qlrgl|tkp:Bk9SR5av06igYg '65 style vs '71 (4 lug) hubs and bearings . .
