hey, ive got a 4 lug 69.5 and a 73 5 lug mav. i want to change the 69.5 to 5 lug.in the front, can i just switch the drums over...with the original 69.5 spindles?
in the rear i think im just going to change out rearends...
also...what kind of rear end is in that 69.5? it looks nothing like the 8 inch. like a 7.5 or something?

One way to find out. Go to a parts store and check the spindle part numbers for the two. If not that, check the bearing part numbers to see if they're the same. Almost bet thou that the 5 lug, V-8s are bigger then the 6 cyl 4 lug ones. Never know until you check.

well, i aint no expert at 69.5 rears, but i've heard that those were german rearends, and they are Very weak. the way to identify these is that the german axle was a salisbury type (it has a sheet metal cover in the back) rear.

All the 69.5 cars were six cylinder cars, and had the 7.5" rear. Get the 8" in there, it is much stronger. On the front, don't know if the spindles will work. Might try to get a set of Granada disc or Mav/Comet disc, and swap them over. Easy to do, much safer.

All Maverick drum brake spindles are the same part number.
