Before I go buy a '77 v8 distributor, will it work with the I6 ignition of the same year? I checked the parts supply websites and the ignition modules have the same part numbers. Background: I have a 77 Mav. with the 200 and 3 speed. I've already put in a 68 302 and a 5 speed with a hydraulic clutch. Now I'm working through the details. The 302 has the Pertronix conversion but I understand the pertronix doesn't work with the duraspark ii. I'm not ready to do a hi-perf. MSD since it sounds like the DS is more than adequate for my needs. Thanks for your thoughts.

You can not use a 6 cyl distributor in a V8. The Duraspark II ignition module will swap out between a 6 and V8 as long as the wiring harness has the same number of wires. My opinion is the DS II is better than Pertronix.

There is a difference on some 6 and 8 cylinder modules. As long as the tab where the wires go into the module is BLUE then you will be OK.
