http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/vintage-mustang-forum/651078-67-vs-68-lower-control-arm.html So to me sounds like we can use any year stang lca as long as the strutrod is same year as the lca correct?
Early Mustang lower control arms will not work on the Maverick/Comet and later Mustangs. The front end adjustment is made by moving the UCA in and out on early Mustang/Falcon. To adjust the front end on later Mustang/Maverick the LCA is moved in and out. The early LCA is also shorter than the later LCA
As mentioned the '65/'66 Stang LCA are different from '67-'73... AFAIK the only difference in '67 & '68/'73 are the holes for strut rod mount and the replacement arms have both patterns, thus can be used with either straight or hockey stick strut rods... BTW the replacement arms fit '67/'73 Stang '66/'71 Fairlane/Torino '66/'70 Falcon, '70/'77 Maverick '75/'80 Granada Of course the sister Mercury vehicles are included...
1967 Mustang strut rods are straight, starting in 1968 they resembled a golf club . The end that attaches to the lower control arms is bent on the later style. I am not positive, but I believe that most of the reproduction lower control arms are drilled for both styles of strut rods. The 1967 (straight strut rods) will not work with 1968 and newer disc brake spindles.
