I was wondering who ,if Anyone out there, Makes a cross member for this application. I've seen plenty for mustang's of the same year, but I don't know if it will fit. also what other parts besides the TVC do I need to make this application a success. the motor that it's going behind is a 351W with a mild cam. if anyone has any info or maybe can give me some tips on the swap I'd greatly appreciate it! :)

Get a 1992 AOD to begin with and then contact Jay at Broader Performance for the upgrades that you need to make it last. Use a 3.7 or higher (3.75, 3.85, 4.11, 4.56 etc.) rear axle ratio. This will get your final drive ratio in the best area to make good economy in OD. Use a lock-up converter if you have under 500 hp - it is the main advantage of the AOD.
NOTE: If you plan to use nitrous - either forget it or don't use the AOD -or- by a nitrous capable AOD from Broader or LenTech.

unfortunantly the AOD i got was from a 85 mustang, but I was planning on putting somewhere around 3.89 gears. My only worry is the crossmember. will a X-member for a 65 mustang work for a comet of the same year? or is there anyone out there that makes one for a falcon/comet as well.

The AOD is a couple of inches longer from the bell mounting to the mount. You could try to extend your existing mount to make it fit.

Well, if you have a torch and some fabrication skills.....I slid a 351W and AOD from a 85 LTD into my 66 Fairlane using a modified LTD crossmember. Basically it is a 10 gauge 2-1/2" diameter tube. I set the engine using new engine mounts and adjusted the drive angle with a jack. Used a mounting pad from a fox Mustang. Then heated and bent the tube member to fit the stock location. Heated and flattened the ends where it attaches to the frame stubs and drilled it to work with the factory bolts.

I also replaced the gas pedal and rod linkage from the Fairlane with a pedal and cable out of a 75 Ranchero. Cable change wasn't necessary but it made for a clean installation with the Lokar TV/gas cable brackets.
