In the works: 1968 Shelby Scoops on Maverick Hood.
(subject orginally started in THIS thread.

I dropped off my stock steel hood and a '68 Shelby GT500 replica to fit my '90 Mustang at a friend's place a while back. I asked him to join the two in holy macaroni.

He just sent progress pics. I (personally) think it looks promising. :yup:

I'll get a few pics with it on the car (hopefully this weekend).

That looks good, Rick. I'm impressed. Are you going to make the scoops functional?

The engine is EFI (air comes in through cylindrical MAF sensor). Currently I have a cold-air kit routed to the front right of the engine. It should get plenty of cold air with the Lightning 95mm MAF sensor.

Also, the hood has a 1" cowl across the back, so the big scoops should allow more cold air to be drawn in and around the massive upper intake (Holley Systemax II) to help keep it cooler.

    We'll see!

Didn't the '68 Shelby hood have louvered opening towards
the back? Maybe I am dreaming. If so, gonna add those?
I think it looks very good.
