If it is the longer notched armrest used on the deluxe panels with the chrome base ... they are not interchangeable. The standard shorter ones are the same either side.
Sort of ... The standard Mustang rests are the same size as the deluxe Maverick rests. The deluxe Maverick rests were chrome ... Mustang just interior color. You will either need Deluxe Maverick door panels to use Mustang rests or cut a hole in a standard door panel. Maverick doors have holes to accept either the shorter standard armrest or the longer Deluxe and Mustang arm rests ..
Armrests Another source for standard 70-72 armrests are the rear ones out of a 70-71 Torino. Use a nutdriver on those fasteners. If you use a socket, you are bound to get it stuck. Been there ...
Earl Branham has the rear arm rests out of a 1985 Bronco in his Maverick. I got them at the junkyard, they are identical to the original Maverick arm rests.
Mine are removed after the plastic inside them shattered and they fell apart. I now have three holes on each door panel. I assume they were the deluxe version because of the chrome part on the handle. On the passenger side, the metal tabs that the screws go to are missing.
Paintank and eburciaga, Yours should be the later style ... 73 and up had the door pull incorporated. It extends up and forward, and usually broke. That later style was also used in Pinto/Bobcat for sure, and I believe Granada/Monarch. Knowing Ford, there were probably others too.
FYI, you can get these new from Autokrafters. I'm finding all kinds of things went MIA after the trip to the painter! Russ
