I need to know if the XMSN's offered in our cars were "case fill" or "pan fill". I used to know but being out in the desert has pretty much jacked up my memory. I appreciate everyone's input! Kyle
I need to know the same questioned. I read the attached link, this means my C4 in my 1977 is case filled, right?
Don is right, trucks and vans did use the pan fill. If you have access to some of those, get and hold em. They usually have the five disc foward clutch and some have the "H" servo. Some say they are a bit better for HD use because the bell housing bolts to the case rather than the pump, like the case fill's. Either one can be made to work in any C4 application with the right bell and flexplate. The pan fill's all use the large bell and flexplate with large converter bolt pattern. The case fill will have either the large or small type with matching flexplate. The only one that is not interchangeable is the 200 six cyl, different bell altogether. Just a small bit of info I can remember on them.
thanks for the info dave. i've got a pan fill in my shed. i'll have to go out and see which servo it has.
