This is the first pictures of my 70 Maverick after getting a nice new coat of paint. It is 2006 Volvo Electric Metalic Silver with 2005 Toyota Dark Grey Metalic for the stripe on the hood and for the rear tail light panel. The roll cage is also Dark Grey Metalic Endura paint. The interior will be a medium grey with Grey Tweed cloth panels and seats. Medium grey ACC carpet to round it out.

It is a two stage paint with many coats of clear. Even as it came out of the booth, it looks about a mile deep. The paint has not been rubbed out yet. The car has been blown back appart for this stage. I can't wait to see the finished product. :)

Sorry the pictures are so bad. The operator was too close to the camera. :90:

I am trying REALLY HARD to get this thing drivable by Fab Fords at Knott's Berry Farms. Since they don't allow trailers or tow vehicles, it either has to drive under it's own power or it stays home. I am NOT pushing it! :D

I also am hoping to run the Silver State Classic open road race this Sept. 14-17th. There is a ton of work to do before that can happen. I plan to run the complete RRS suspension as soon as it is available. I like the idea of being able to drop the car 2" to 3" and still be able to set the camber and caster within specs. Until then, I will be experimenting with several other suspension setups.

The car will be running a 5.0 Fuel injected motor, AOD, 8" with 3.25:1 limited slip, 4 wheel disks, A/C, plenty of sound deadener, insulation, etc. Comfort is Job #1.

I seriously doubt the car will be ready to drive on the street by April. I am hoping to have it moving under it's own power enough to drive from a trailer to a parking spot on the show area. That would be quite an accomplishment in the time remaining.

Yes, I will be at the June Reno show. Maybe not driving this car, though. I am working towards a completion date of early August to allow enough time to fix gremlins before Sept 14th.

There is a HUGE amount of work needed to make this happen, though. :90:

Looking good. Congrats! I hope to see it at the Fabulous Ford Show, at Knotts Berry Farm.
