Well got my Marti Report back today. It says my car is: 1 of 2,761 with the Competition Blue paint 661 with Black Vinyl buckets and Competition Blue 16,393 with the 200 six and C-4 auto 13,677 with GT appearance group So, what do you think fairly valuable as a 6 banger or go ahead and convert to a V8 and 4 spd? - Matt
I think these cars are worth more properly rodded vs stock unless it's just an absolute low mile, virgin time capsule.Do what makes you happy.
I would have to agree. By looking at the pictures you have posted....it looks like you will be doing a lot of work to it. If you want a V-8....go for it. I think from a "monetary" standpoint it will be worth more with a V-8.
had to look twice to see the comet. if you don't do it you'll be saying in the future, "i could've had a v-8". go for it. if you want the ability to return to stock, keep the engine.
Well, I've got all of the Comet GT specific stuff and have everything but the frame mounts to do V8 conversion. If I do, I'll keep the 6 stuff in the garage just in case. I don't plan on selling it anytime soon. - Matt
i say beef up that 200, making it a sleeper, and dub it the V8 hunter... or bring it over here and we'll race..
Sleeper, thats what it'll be a sleeper, it'll put you to sleep with it's lack of power!!And we'll call you a Grandma!
If you do leave it as a 6, it will be one of only very few 6 cyl. GT's in the '71-'75 Comet GT Registry. The percentage of GT's with factory installed V8's in lieu of I-6's seems to be much higher than the Grabber Mavericks. Seth redcometgt@aol.com
