Hello all. I am new to Maverick's and looking to get one. I came across this car and I am curious what it is worth? Feedback appreciated. What I know about the car:
This past summer the car was gone through from top to bottom . Sale is a 1971 Ford Maverick Grabber. This car has restored as a retro rod but would be easy to put back in original condition. It has a 302 ci motor with new intake and 4bbl carburetor, new tires and wheels, frame support, traction bars, line lock, shift light, 4 speed Hurst and starts like a new car. Currently the car has a rear seat delete much like a new Boss 302 but we do have the rear seat for the car. Freshly painted in Grabber Orange and black it amazing to see. You have got to see this car to believe it. We will provide all records since we have owned the for you to keep

I would say it is worth around $7000. Depends on how fresh the engine is and what else was done to the car. But I like it.

Definitely just a nice paint job, the rest of the car needs work, "Restored" is a stretch .

Numbers matching doesn't mean much in the Maverick world. Is it a steel hood, or Fiberglass ? Does it have disc brakes on the front? What's it look like underneath?

No disc brakes. No power steering. Haven't seem underneath as I haven't seen car physically yet. Trying to decide before I drive 5hrs. Thanks for all your help.

    Since you asked......

The front stone guard is missing. Also missing: rear window trim, front hood lip molding.

Looks like the front bumper had bumper guards. They are missing and all that is left is the holes.

I personally don't care for the painted bumper look on a Maverick unless the rest of the car is painted body color.

The fact that it may or may not be a real Grabber is now lost due to all the alterations to the car (rear wing, hood scoop on hood, paint job, etc).

Lets start here: So what does the seller think it is worth?

You can buy a pretty clean, nice Maverick for that, that is too much for that car.

I'd agree with Larry with the approximate 3500 appraisal. Although it can be put back to original it's going to cost money. The seats are 73 and later and are splitting at the seams, the grabber hood has a hole cut in it. The paint might look pretty good but I doubt it is a quality job due to the door buzzer plastic being painted over. It still needs door weatherstripping and missing the heater controls and a dash pad. I doubt it was a dedicated race car as well. Most tracks wont let you run the car with that much rubber line. It does have some good parts on it like the 4 speed set up and the grabber rear spoiler. I'd try to buy the gt500 behind it.

Doh, I took too long to write this. Run away.....
