Just an observation but I have noticed that some 72 Grabbers have the solid hood stripe like the earlier models. So, does that mean they were using up the earlier hood stripe/decal before they went into the split decal as seen on my 72 Grabber? In other words does anyone know why one type of hood decal was used over that of another on those earlier Grabbers?

72 was split, up until then it was one piece. Some cars have been repainted since they were new.

For sure or some have put on the incorrect stripe kit, painted etc, but it appears/ I have seen posted pictures etc, that some are saying and some of their cars appear to be as I said, that they are original. I just wondered if there is any truth to any of that. So, does anyone have an all original 72 Grabber that has the solid hood decal? I just thought that maybe some color schemes may have had that type of hood decal over the split version?

72 is split vinyl decal stripe. 71 is a solid painted on stripe.

My '72 Grabber with original paint has the split stripe, which I do like better than the solid stripe.

I too like the split decal best. Again I just wondered if different color schemes may have gotten the solid hood decal. For example, the '72 Grabber was the only one to get the rear spoiler decal?
