Okay did a bit of a search but not sure I got the info I needed to place the rear Maverick emblem on my spoiler--it was off and in the trunk when I got the car. I found some info on here about placement and some measurements, but no pictures that went with the thread so Im not sure if those measurements are correct from the way things were worded by all in the thread. I think it was Craig who laid those out for us. Hence, Original Measurements anyone?

The other part of my inquiry is what did everyone use to mount that badboy on? I want something that will last as I believe the reason so many of the originals are gone is because of not good glue etc. So what did you use that is working great and will not come off?

    Thanks all

I'm thinking that is what happened in the factory too since they were glued on. Speaking of that, what did you use to make the darn thing stay stuck? I'm guessing I should use dewaxer on the area where I intend to mount it, but what sticky should I use? I have a double sided tape used for such things right now, but I have not mounted it yet. BTW dmhines I sure like your car! Looks great.

I am running out the door right now.....

I thought I posted somewhere the exact measurements. I still have them.

The factory would have had some type of template to use to know exact placement on the car.

3M doublesided tape. Cut to fit around all the letters.....big fun.

I saw those measures on the post, but wasn't sure from the postings after then if they were correct by the way individuals were talking. Using the double sided tape thing just scares me--seems it needs something stronger or some hot day it will just hop off. lol

3M emblem glue. It's made to glue emblems on. I used it to glue my Maverick scripts to the sail panels. So far, two years and they're still holding.....

From the factory they used 2 sided tape, I have 2 NOS emblems. I have a spoiler out in the garage, I can measure it up, and see it it's the same as Craigs, I'm almost sure it will be.

The 3M emblem tape is the good stuff and as long as you prep the surface right (no wax or oil) it will stick.

Like Craig said, trimming is the fun part ..............

Okay here are the measurements from the other thread.

Spoiler Emblem placement on Grabber Trunk
8" from M to the right side of the trunk/spoiler lid.
M sits 7/8" above the bottom of the spoiler
K sits 3/4" above bottom of the spoiler

My emblem was NOS .. I did not trust 40 year old Tape. I used a small paint brush and carefully painted the factory tape with 3M Emblem Adhesive. It ain't never coming off! LOL.

doing it that way...the factory tape is still holding the emblem to the adhesive...but as long as you leave the car in the garage...the emblem is basicly ...still in the box...
