I really like the pics. Hope mine comes out that nice when I get mine finished. That is a really sharp looking ride. Looks like the car is at least back halved. I have been considering doing this to mine. How far did you go with the mods. I would also be interested in the specifics of your combination if you would not mind sharing.
Thanks Paul, My car started out as a pro street roller from NY. Then I went from one end to the other, restored the hood, replaced the trunk and corners, rechromed both bumpers, replaced grill and badge, hood molding, door handles, tail lights, fuel cell from 15 gal to 8 gal ,holley fuel pump (blue) 1/2'' line, new wiring front to back, new gauges. The car is back halfed with 14x32''M/T slicks moroso 7.10x15 front tires. The engine is a 347 hyd roller pro comp 210 aluminum heads victor jr intake 750 cfm holley 11 to 1 compression msd dist, coil ,hooker ss long tube headers,It made 460 hp on the dyno at 6600 rpm's. It has a c4 with trans brake and 5.38 rear end gears.
Paul Iam going to be driving past your house on Monday on my way to Palm Bay for thanksgiving, at my daughters.I could put that 347 in my truck and bring it along,it is for sale carb to pan with the ss headers fits right in that maverick.
That 347 seems like a runner. I was thinking about building a 408 myself, but how much you asking for it, and I thought you just put it in the car? Why do you want to sell? That motor seems to run real well. Love the whole car, that's what I would like mine to be like when I am finished. I started a project thread on mine, but haven't quite figured out how to post pics yet. I have an 11:1 351 on the stand, but I am not sure what I want to do with it just yet. Decisions decisions.........
Paul,I am asking $3500. 00 carb to pan with ss long tube hooker headers. That will include dyno sheet and cam card.It was a year and a half ago till now that all this took place, because I had a lot of trouble using this forum.Thats why in one of my posts I said this was part 1 because I am already mocked up for my 418w .Front and rear motor plate brackets will be welded in today and we will start building headers after thanksgiving when I get back.I was going to put pic's of the new set up on hear but after the first picture I took my digital camera died. I should get a new camera in the mail today. This 347 has 70 passes on it 95% 1/8 mile .What does your car weigh ?Mines 2660 lbs wod 2900 with.
I am interested in the 347. Could you give me more details on it. My car as I recall weighed 2760 without driver. I am around 210 now. Would make it about 2970. Pretty close weight wise to yours. I had to laugh, I was asking myself why the 347 mock up and test fit on one of your earlier postings. A 347 would drop in with no mods as far as I know. Now it makes sense. The 418 is a different story. Definitely some mods to be made with that one. I just started trimming the shock towers on mine last weekend. The 351 is a really tight fit even with the small tube headers. I have been wanting to cut on those towers since I have owned the car... I have finally done it. Best of luck on the mods. You have to be stoked about getting that motor installed. Who builds your motors, and what is the expectations of the 418. Should be a beast!
Paul,I like to see how things are going to fit, when I got this car it had no motor or trans. The headers came with car ,they said they would fit but I wasen't sure. The shock towers were cut back but I didn't know how far .I also wanted to check carb to hood clearance with a 2''carb spacer. The headers for the 347 are 1 5/8 primary tubes 3'' collector. As in earlier post it made 460 hp @ 6600 and 421 torque@ 4900 . The cam is custom grind hyd roller .547 lift, 254 intake and .260 exhaust @ .050 and 110.0 lobe separation, steel core ,COMP CAMS. The machine work and R&D is done at shop called CAMS in Canton ohio, they work on all engines but the owner is a Ford guy. Me and my son assemble the motors and put them on the dyno and then the owners son runs the dyno to see how good a job we done?
Based on the power numbers, sounds like you and your motor guy did a good job, Do you know what rotating assembly was used in the 347, cast or steel crank, and parts used in the heads, did your machinist build with the stock pro comp valves and springs, or did he use the comp cams matching springs. Just curious.
Paul, the 347 has probe forged flat top pistons, scat forged I-beam rods with arp 8740 cap screws, scat nodular 9000 material crank.the heads were orderd with springs to handle 650 lift and when we got them home we checked installed height and changed spring locator washers valve seals.I also cut the heads .020 and used cometic head gaskets
