i have a drive shaft loop that we are trying to install and i am having trouble finding a way to fit it within the 6 inch minimum for nhra??? anyone have any pictures or words of wisdom to help me out??? the arms of the loop are to long and i am running into the frame/area to mount driver seat
if you have one of those universal kits...you must trim them. I BELIEVE! Cause I did a set for Matt on his 77' and thats what it took to make it fit.
Like john said, trim it. However i've yet to see any tech person get under the car and measure it. I've only had them look and see if it's there.
You mean there's a spec for that? I did mine simply by running a 10ga x 2" piece of flat bar under the shaft from the seat reinforcements on either side. Some of the one's I'd seen in researching loops were nothing better than that.
Note,, all racecar parts must be modified to fit. I have never seen anyone crawl under and measure either. In my opinion, close is like hand grenades on this install. Dan
