im posting this up for Tony & Terry Hahn.. This Maverick is a close recreation of our high school ride which we purchased new at our local Ford dealership the summer of 1973. It was converted to a 4 speed top loader, holley, edelbrock, 9" rear with 4:10 gears, etc. It was very quick and well respected in the street wars of our town in the mid 70's. The clone car began as a rust free 74' Grabber that was totally disassembled and placed on a rotisserie. All paint was completely stripped to bare metal and the underside was coated with truck bed liner since the car's purpose is to be a driver. Engine is a 302 with mild cam, edelbrock intake, summit 650 vacuum secondary carb, msd ignition, and spectre air cleaner. The battery was relocated to the trunk. Exhaust consists of ceramic coated shorty headers, 2.5'' tubing with mufflers from a 2006 california special mustang. Complete rewire and fuse panel with harnes hidden under drivers side front fender. Cooled by an aluminum radiator and electric fan. A c-4 transmission spinning a 3200 stall converter and shift kit turns a stock 8'' open rear with 2:79 gears for cruising in the show off lane. Suspension upgrades are a Rod&Custom mustang II style front end with tubular a-arms, antisway bar, adjustable coilovers, and a power rack & pinion steering. Rear leaf springs were removed and a home built triangulated 4 link was installed, along with adjustable coilovers, addco antisway bar and subframe connectors. The rear was not mini tubbed however the quarters were massaged to allow wheels and tires to tuck under. Brakes are 4 wheel power disc. For wheels we selected the Rally series from Billet Specialties with 17x7 front and 17x9.5 rear. Tires are Summitomo HTR2II 215-45-17 front and 275-40-17 rear. Interior was kept modest using LDO bucket seats, Shelby style steering wheel, stock floor stifter, white face gauges with matching 3 gauge cluster, and a pioneer cd player. The car also is equipped with rear defroster, new carpet and headliner. Body and paint is done in factory colors using PPG base coat/ clear coat. All stripes are painted and are under the clear. 73' style hood stripe was downsized to accomodate the snorkel hood.(the way a 73 hood should have been IMO). An all new rubber kit from AutoKrafters and new windshield was installed. The trunk was splatter painted and houses a correct(for 73) D-70-14 Goodyear polyglas spare tire as well as the battery. All 8 pieces (3 chrome, 5 rubber) of the front bumper are NOS. It took 5 years to collect all the pieces. All the inner structure was deleted and new brackets were fabricated to allow for a 1 3/4'' bumper tuck. All work was performed in house by ourselves and some close friends. The window tint was outsourced. This is our 4th Maverick build including a friends comet. The beauty of our hobby is that it allows for personal expression and hopefully free of criticism. Everyones idea of the perfect street machine, hot rod, classic car, etc. is different as it should be. Thats what keeps our hobby fresh, exciting and enjoyable. Thanks for your time and hope there are some aspects of this build that you may enjoy. Thanks again, Tony Hahn Hahn Bros. Mavs. Somerset, Ky.

Beautiful car, pics barely do it justice. Looking forward to seeing it again in July at the MCG Gathering in Somerset.
Very nice. I like the 1973 bumpers with all the guards and rubber. You just don't see that very often.
I saw that car in Somerset this past September. It is one beautiful car. All their cars are beautiful.
