My son's "First Car" project. Thanks again for the help from those on the forum who helped guide my son and I in getting the necessary parts for steering column to get the vehicle driving again.
My son is going to call this Comet "The Kiwi"

We are working on Upolstery now.

Looking forward to posting pictures some day. At the rate I am on any forum that day may never come. I do enjoy reading other posts.

We are currently looking for a set of seat belts for the 74 Comet. I am going down to the bone yard tomorrow on a tip. The front seat belts are the Rollup type in the canister mounted on either side of the front seat.
I was also was wondering if the connisters can be reloaded. I have not really looked close at the manual yet.

Don't know how far it is for you to travel, there is (might want to check first if it is still there) a Maverick, same color as your Comet at Ecology pick your part, 1 hour from Los Angeles. 11200 Alden Road, Adelanto, CA.

College Grove - the correct upscale name is now Rolando Park Heights.

Thanks for the tip... I will look into it. There was a Maverick down at Ecology in Chula Vista I took some parts off it. Most of it was already gone through.

No plans to paint just yet. My son will have to decide that later. He is more interested in using the vehicle for now. He is definitely appreciates the fact that it is a classic and is planning on keeping the car through life. I told him it can have a home with me if he needs to part with it for awhile.
The car has been dubbed "The Kiwi"
Oh... the dash pad has been done in carpet with a UV protectant. I has been fitted and bonded to the original which was cracked and such. We may venture to do a cap rebuild later.

Thanks again for all your responses I will post more pics of The Kiwi after the next trip up for final bit of work.
