If I remove the EGR on my 1974 w/250 will that diversely effect the engine function? There is no smog pump or cat conv & I have classic insurance so I don't need to go thru emissions. Could I just use a pre 73 type carb spacer(for the intake) & just plug up some of the other existing vacuum plumbing on the original 74 carb & be good at that?

just make a block off plate out of some thin metal and use the original gasket to seal it or use silicone then if you need to put it back you can just bolt it on

Should be no problem, Just cap off any vacuum ports you're not using. :)
