I am writing this for my 14 year old sons car. I am a auto mechcanic by trade and would like to past on my skills and love of cars to my son . That is why we bought this car.It has a 302 with a C-4 with headers. We have a couple of years to complete it. My son and I have been sreaching on e-bay and craigs list for a car that he like that wasn't to rough but needed work . We found this comet on craiglist only a couple of miles away from our house. I have included some photos. The car has a rusted floor on the right side, left side outer front fender skirt edge. It was missing the heater box, and the wiring harness has been cut up some. Had some power bucket seat in it that you couldn't fit your legs under the steering wheel. We found a 75 maverick on craiglist a week later that didin't run and didn't have a straight panel on it. this car was all original. and had all the parts we need too.

:Welcome:to the board. There are a couple of Father/Son projects on here. Always nice to see it. Good choice on the Comet. Sounds like you will need to fix the cowl. Pour water down the cowl vents by the wipers. I'm sure you will see water going on the floor, where you have the rusted out floor pan. This is a good place for any questions you have....

    Welcome.

That soesn't look like to bad of a starting point for the Maryland area.

Here's hoping your son enjoys every minute of the build and time spent with dad.

:Welcome:from Atlantic Canada! My first maverick started as a father/son project when I was 14, so I understand where there is tons of value in such a project. Sounds like it's a decent car to restore/fix up especially if you're in the trade already!
