My 76 maverick's front end's all but shot, or so I've been told, and I'm looking to rebuild it. Anyway, I need to know what brand/make of front end kit I should look into for the best performance for the price -- not necessarily the best parts I can get, just the most bang for the buck.

Where could one find KYB brand front shocks for a '76? The local auto parts store ordered the rear shocks for me, but they couldn't get front ones for some reason.

Also, when I purchased my Maverick, the rear tires were too wide and were being destroyed by the body of the car when I hit bumps; what's the maximum tire size I could get without that happening?

I don't know much about cars, so forgive me for having no idea what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance.

If you want to get front end parts on-line the 1969 - 1973 Mustang parts interchange. ball joints, control arms, tie rod ends and idler arm are all the same.

you should be able to easly fit a 255/60-15 as long as your wheels have the right back spaceing

I agree. I personally run 275/60-15's but my rear lip is rolled for extra clearance and I have no problems at all. However, I don't recommend a wheel over 8" wide because it makes a big difference on how wide the tire spreads out. I ran 10" wheels with and had rubbing problems, fixed it with 8" wheels. I run 4.5 backspace.
