Here we are at the beginning. I recently purchased a Maverick and the plan is a resto mod project. The car has a 302 in it now backed by what appears to be the worn out factory C4 and factory rear end. This will be a (hopefully) quick build. The first step is to make the car safe and street worthy. The interior is nearly a total loss. The factory front seats are long gone with broken fox body mustang seats bolted straight to the floor. The dash will be replaced a custom fabbed full aluminum dash, seeing as how its just about ruined. The rear seat cover and foam are ruined but the the frame and springs look to be in good shape from what I can see. The center trunk pan is ruined, fortunately that appears to be the worst trunk and it's a relatively simply panel to replace. There is light surface pitting behind all the wheels which is pretty common for the area. So my first question is this- is there any cross compatible seat brackets? I'll put pictures up tomorrow, when I start stripping out the interior.
Quick build? Dont they all start like that? Good luck with the build and keep updates coming. As far as seat brackets, nothing just bolts in other than Maverick /Comet rails. But if you can fabricate a custom dash, you should have no problems modifying almost anything to fit.
Well I justified buying the car to my fiancee by telling her that it would be ready in time for us to drive away from our wedding in it. So, yeah I have a year and a half which for me is a very quick build.
