I've got a rust problem in the trunk area where the shackles bolt to the "frame". I'm not sure if I can rebuild the frame or put in a whole trunk piece. Any ideas would be well taken. Dave
Pictures would help.....but if the rust is extensive in that area....and the rest of the car is just as rusty....then might be time for another body.
If you don't want to junk the body, you can do the frame rail and trunk floor repair with some work. It has been done by members here before.
Replacing the entire trunk is not easy because its a unibody design thats spot welded to the framing. Unless your building an original show car I would just cut out the sections that are rusty and replace it with new metal. If the actual framing is bad you will need to find a donner car and cut out the section that holds the shackel.
